Q. I’ve noticed big changes recently being made at Hilltop Gun Clubs shooting range, especially all of the new target bays. Can you tell me when all 7 of the Steel Challenge Shooting Association target ranges will be completed?
A. A good question. We started work in January of 2023 creating new areas on the gun range to hold Steel Challenge Shooting Association Competitions. Each area is carved out of clay or rock or mud and sand had been a real time and money consumer, especially when heavy equipment is used. Over the past 3 years we keep developing a land slide in the same area and that has slowed down progress. Currently we are running 3 stages in that area, and this late Autumn we will have an excavator come in and claw back the loose soil away from the targets. Our contractor says the slide will never stop but we can preform maintenance. If we continue to make process all 7 SCSA target stage areas will be finalized by October.
