Ohio is having an outbreak of Tics or ticks. Currently we have 5 types here in Athens. Tics carry nasty viruses that can make a person ill, very ill or dead.

At Hilltop Gun Club we have mowed grass, savanna, swamps, meadows, Prairie grass, marginals, forests and very high grasses. All of these locations are hosts, to ticks.

The Ohio Department of Health has excellent guidelines and suggestions on how to hopefully keep a wood tick off from you. And how to remove one if it’s on you or biting into your skin.

We have no control over the insect and all we can say is make sure you check your body when you get home after being at the gun range and Nature Preserve.
