June CCW training – Taking a class from Kevin Martin

This poor pretty princess searched and researched for over a month to find a competent safe professional firearms instructor. The local sheriff's department, the gun store, an employee at Dunham's, a LE at Ohio University, the NRA, and friends all told her to only consider Hilltop Gun Club and me as her instructor. This picture is after shooting 250 rounds of ammo going through 33 tactical drills all within 3 hours.

Hilltop Gun Club makes the news again in this Athens News article!

HTGC Concealed carry permits are up in Athens County, and about twice as much as the state average. See the article below for more on how Hilltop Gun Club is making this happen! The Athens News:
Local concealed-carry permits have been surging

L.A. watch store owner refuses to be a victim… repeatedly!

Thugs were robbing and killing shopkeepers in Los Angeles. One of them had the nerve to defend himself, rather than go down, and had the wisdom to get trained properly, for any situation. His training paid off, and very likely saved his life and business more than once. Small world - this man, Lance Thomas, was trained in knife fighting by Hilltop Gun Club Chief Instructor Kevin Martin!

Hilltop Gun Club activities currently are at a stand still due to the 11" of snow we received this past weekend. All training has been suspended for the time being. However once it warms back up and the snow pack melts we will be open for members to train again. Current construction updates for the range will be moving some bullet impact ranges, to fix the nonstop 24/7/365 toe of the back stop water run 0ff for The Slot Range. That area must have cut open a Spring when we made the range. Even after installing 200' of 4" PVC drain pipe the area remains soggy at the hill toe. The next project we are working on is clearing out a slice of the forest for our 300+ yard rifle range which will be the only one in the entire S E Ohio area for members to shoot and train. Staff is currently building new target stands, shooting benches and portable benches for the students to place their kit and firearms on while shooting on The Slot range. In addition staff will be building a NRA designed shooting platform / shelter house for the rifle shooters. This will include a 12' by 32' deck with roof, shooting benches, sound abatement items, rifle racks, benches and shade cloth. We assume if all goes well (hahaha) the rifle platform will  be ready for use in Mid March. We will have the 2016 training schedule up soon. Last, the board members of HillTop Gun Club is currently working with the staff of a national woman's firearms advocacy group called The Well Armed Woman. Their primary mission is education and instruction and shooting. Because HillTop Gun Club has the only private members range we were approached by the local TWAW contact to be able receive training and shooting use of the range. Please check back for more information. Staff
