Hilltop gun Club

2017 Concealed Carry class schedule is posted. Click here!

HillTop Gun Club was first started in New Marshfield Ohio right around 1946 and 1947 by the founding members of Gilham-Frank VFW Post 8804. The majority of officers and members of the VFW all agreed that any law abiding citizen in America should be taught how to properly use a long gun for self defense and to protect the country. HillTop Gun Club was the first club started in the United States by a Veterans of Foreign Wars.  Two members of the club eventually went on to become Olympic qualified shooters and winners. Those members were Jack Neal and his father.  The club hosted skeet shooting and shotgun competitions throughout the decades, however the club and grounds closed for good in 2001. Kevin Martin approached Jack Neal in 2002 and asked if the clubs namesake could continue on, and still be located in Waterloo Township. Currently Gilham-Frank VFW post is sponsoring the shooting club and have two active officers on the shooting clubs board. This will be a banner year for the HillTop as the entire shooting disciplines, including: combative and tactical shot, tactical rifle, long range rifle, 50 caliber rifle and combative pistol course will offered year around. Our first class is Ohio Concealed Carry being held February 5 2011 from 8 to 8. Happy a Happy New Year from the staff of Athens County's premier gun training facility HillTop Gun Club!
